I celebrate and embrace uncertainty, and surrender to the creative flow. My art is a testament to the authentic expression that arises from deep within, inviting viewers to connect with their own inner selves and embark on a voyage of self-discovery.

Using acrylic mixed media, I construct each piece layer by layer, weaving translucent washes, blended hues, and intricate textures. The surface becomes a playground of possibilities, enriched by the inclusion of various materials and found objects. Through this tactile process, I strive to create a visual language that resonates on an emotional level, inviting viewers to embark on their own personal journey of interpretation.

It is often only in reflection that I begin to glean fragments of understanding—clues to the deeper meaning embedded within the layers of color and texture. Like a puzzle slowly pieced together, the artwork reveals its stories, inviting viewers to join in the unraveling. 

My working methodology is inspired by instruction received at the graduate level (Western Michigan University and Pasadena College of Art and Design) layered upon a classical arts education. The ideas for the canvases are distilled from techniques that I learned from Mary Winterfield, one of the primary influences on my current painting style. Winterfield, an instructor at the Pasadena College of art and Design, studied at the the Arts Student League of New York and the Cape School under Henry Hensche. Winterfield taught me the spatial push-pull theories of Hans Hoffman as well the use of color keys to depict the color of light itself. I use what I call abstract simplification to create strong soaring work.
